Prof. Yakov Amihud

 

Bio: 

Yakov Amihud is Ira Rennert Professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at the Stern School of Business, New York University. His research includes the evaluation of corporate financial policies, mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, objectives of corporate managers, dividend policy, and law and finance.

The focus of his research is the effects of liquidity of assets on their returns and values, and the design and evaluation of securities markets’ trading methods. On these topics, Amihud has done consulting work for the NYSE, AMEX, CBOE, CBOT, and other securities markets. He has published more than seventy research articles in professional journals and in books, and edited and co-edited five books on topics such as LBOs, bank M&As, international finance, and securities market design.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Anand Srinivasan

Dr. Anand Srinivasan is an Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Finance at National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School. Prior to joining NUS, Dr. Srinivasan was an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Georgia.

His main area of research is banking. In addition, he has papers related to fixed income, default, bankruptcy, executive stock options and real estate. His work has been published in various journals including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analytics and Real Estate Economics. His applied work on the airline industry was used as one of the justifications for an international treaty on secured debt financing for the airline industry. This treaty has now been signed and ratified by several developed and developing countries, including the US, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia and India.

Dr. Srinivasan`s research has been highlighted in media publications such as The Wall Street Journal, as well as The Business Times and Straits Times in Singapore. He has been interviewed by Bloomberg Television, Channel NewsAsia and Asia Times Online, among others.

For his extensive contributions and academic excellence, Dr. Srinivasan has also received numerous awards and honours. He was awarded the NUS Business School Outstanding Researcher Award (2009). He has also received three international awards, including two in conferences for Best Paper and one from the Journal of Financial Economics.

In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Srinivasan has also provided consulting services for corporations and organisations such as JP Morgan Chase, the World Bank & SITA (earlier named `Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques`) a Switzerland-based organisation.

Dr. Srinivasan completed his Bachelors in Technology at the Indian Institute of Technology and his Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University. He received his PhD in Finance from New York University.
